This program is a utility program to assist in the design and evaluation of the performance of
Cyclones It has an easy to use Calculation interface with a 'Presizer' to make the selection and sizing
of cyclones simple for the new user. The program is versatile with a databank of 10 cyclone types, 5
different gas systems including a user defined system any of which can be used in the cyclone
calculations by simply clicking a button. In addition, the program calculates cyclone efficiency using
the two most commonly used methods (Lapple and Shepherd and Leith and Licht) plus many key
cyclone evaluation parameters which include the four dimensionless numbers (Euler, Stokes,
Froude and Reynolds) used in cyclone analysis.
In addition to generic cyclones the program can be adapted to use with Manufacturer's data and get
reasonable agreement with efficiencies and other parameters published IN THEIR PRODUCT
LITERATURE. A sample evaluation of a cyclone using Manufacturer's data is included with a brief
description of the procedure.
.
The report page contains a comprehensive summary of Cyclone performance parameters including
pressure drop, inlet velocity, estimation of vortex length and number of turns in the vortex and in
addition to overall efficiency , cyclone efficiency for PM2.5, PM5 and PM10 plus 90% efficiency
particulate size.
